Nice coffee maker. It was worth the trouble to have it shipped to Japan. I hate 5 or 6 cups coffee makers.

I bought this coffee maker as a back-up to brew decaf at a party we were having. It was on sale, so I figured, why not? Well, this is the worst coffee maker I have ever owned. It leaks water during the brewing process and makes a mess on my counter. I have to use about 50% more coffee than normal–otherwise it is too weak. The basket doesn’t stay put and seems very flimsy. Our other coffee maker (Mr. Coffee) has been working much better…for over 7 years. Now I know not to switch brands!

This Black & Decker DLX850 coffee pot was cheap (about $20.00 at KMart last year.) It brewed an excellent pot of coffee and the swing out basket was a great feature for cleanup, etc. Easy to fill and has water level indicator. The “Pause and serve” feature was great too!
However, the switch failed within less than a year and now I can’t find the same pot anymore, locally.
For the $20 price tag it can’t be beat! I see that I can find another one on Amazon or a few other places, but with shipping they would cost alot more than I originally paid. (I bought a Cuisinart to replace it, for which I have posted a review, today. I hope the new coffee maker lasts 2 or more years! I did, after all, pay more than twice as much for this new one!)

This product hasn’t failed me yet, so I really don’t know what to say. It has nice glass thingy and a nice white color. Sorry I can’t help you with this. It’s easy to operate.

The hot plate doesn’t keep coffee as hot as my last coffeemaker. I’m one who tops off a half cup so I always had to nuke it in the microwave. Also the filter holder opens & closes very hard plus is hard to remove and replace for cleaning. Just too many things wrong with this coffeemaker, it will end up in the barn or at Goodwill.
