  2. Everything perfect, only thing, traffic delivered by nuLink difficult to understand its prediction principal to real traffic at the moment, and sometimes it’s looking redundant.

I tried garmin vs tomtom 740 live side by side around houston area and I have one winner: Tomtom live 740!!!

The garmin always take you through weird routes and never give you the best route as the tomtom with the IQ routs technology…

Also as I’m driving on “1960″ over and over again, It dosnt matter what time the garmin say there is traffic and takes me around the road which extending my route by 5 min!!!

But the worst fact is that the road is completely clear.

Another time I drove from S houston to N houston at pick time and the garmin took thorough a nightmare route compare to a dream route which took me the tomtom the day before!

25 min shorter on the tomtom at pick time!!!

So I think the routing on the tomtom are way better but some good point for the garmin as the “extra” services really good especially the google local feature which is way more friendly then the tomtom’s.

Mounting is better on the tomtom.

The ability to choose if you want hov/toll roads on the tomtom is great as well.

Again if the routing ability important for you get the tomtom, but if the visuality more take the garmin, but eventually the tomtom are the best by the usability!!!

  4. This GPS is what anyone would need. I love blue tooth and everything the GPS performs. Garvin Nuvi1690 is better than any GPS I have ever had and I have had Magellan, Nextar, Tom Tom, and Navigon.

Just got this today. Seems to be the top of the line device. The keyboard just gets stuck when inputting characters (it sticks – you have to wait) – and some keys like the backspace / delete just dont work. Furthermore, there are no texting features on the bluetooth. There is no Fm transmitter, no bluetooth A2DP transmisster, so you can transmit to your car stereo. No music abilities, no SD card ? It seems with Garmin one step forward 2 steps back. The only really cool thing is doing a google search – but whats the point if you cant even enter what you want. Device thicker than advertised – does look nice though. including mounting kit not sufficient – def. need the Garmin grip pad. I am returning this.
