My name is the Computer Genius I wrote a long review under ellen's ross name. Well I puchased another one and I have confirmed the quality has truly gone down since the Nuvi 660.

If you are a first time user or not have had much experience with Gps you might think it's amamzing. and if you do keep it. there is nothing wrong with the unit for the everyday user.

This is what I found under software version 2.30 the map redraws were fast but it did have a shut down issue. I updated my software to 3.0 and installed new maps now the redraws are slow (just like my other 755t)

Another anoying thing to me was when I was going out of a parking lot it would say continue on commerical blvd. (the parking lot) wouldn't let me get on commerical. so I had to take another street the unit did not guide me from where I was. As a matter of fact I had Nuvi 660 next to me with the older software and maps and that guided me.

Another problem I had with this unit (both of them) was Let's say I was going from point A to B but I had to stop in the middle to go to the bathroom. I'd turn off the engine, get back into the car and it would say continue from (the street where point A was) even though I was in between point A and B. I will admit that it did correct it's self. but with my Nuvi 660 this was never an issue.

I truly don't know what to say anymore execpt that I am totally frustrated. Magallens freeze up all the time and Garmin has software issues. Most things made in the olden days were made much better today everything is made like garbage. The most realistic approach for me is to keep the 660 and forget about this one. However this one does have much more features. So it will be a hard decision. The question I have to ask myself can I and do I want to live with the flaws and hopefully Garmin will improove the software or live with the old oneand have less features. (and don't update it) Thats a question I have to ask myself.

BTW: I heard lots of Bluetooth problem with bluetooth enabled 7x5 series... This model (755) should be less problem since it doesnot have a bluetooth. My unit may arrived in couple of weeks...

Updates:
My 755T arrived several days ago. Quite impressive, but not quite satisfied with it's 'touchscreen'. It feels slugish. It also having issues with 3rd party maps. BUT... Yesterday, I upgraded it's firmware to v2.50. Most of the issues were resolved, and the 'touchscreen' is getting better. The refresh speed is quite amazing.

TQ

I encourage anybody thinking of purchasing a Garmin Nuvi expecially the Nuvi 755T not to purchase it. You will be sorry. This product from Garmin has major problems. Garmin is constantly sending out software updates to try in a vain attempt to fix the problems, but it does not work. It will eventually fail. Garmin's customer service sucks much ass.

I suggest that you steer clear away from Garmin if you are thinking about purchasing a GPS unit. I had an older Nuvi model that worked fine, but the newer Nuvi products from Garmin are nothing but trash.

Fist: lane assist is not available everywhere, as a matter of fact it did not work anywhere where I've tried.
Navigation itself is weird. One example: it tells you to turn left on highway when it actually means to stay on highway and not to take an exit.
Extras like unit converter will tell you how many millimeters there is in one centimeter, but converting between inches and millimeters is just too much to ask.
I'm not spending any more time discovering this "high tech" disappointment and I'm returning it.
