The box and knives are beautiful to look at, however, I felt like I was sawing through the steak rather than cutting it. This was extremely annoying to say the least.

First of all I must clear out that I haven’t used these knifes; this review is from a gift perspective only. Some of you might be interested in knowing that these knifes have a “CHINA” embossed label on the side. I wanted to buy a steak knife set as a gift for mother’s day and decided to go with these because of the fancy case and the good reviews. Well, nothing says “Cheap” more than a “CHINA” label. I couldn’t help feeling deceived because none of the pictures show the side where the label is. Again, this review does not refer to the durability, quality, etc. It is just to make the buyers aware of this (not so minor) detail, as I wish I would have been.

These are the whole package. beautiful to look at. They have a nice feel to them and good balance. I love the box. I can’t decide whether to keep them or give them as a gift.

I fully expected far less; however, I was pleasantly surprised to see how nice they are. The craftsmenship is impecable and best yet the blades are sharp as you should expect. The heft and feel of the whole knife tells me that significant effort went into making it.
While the storage box is not top-of-the-line, it serves a practical purpose: it keeps the knives away from duling utensils we might keep in a drawer or elsewhere. The box makes it handy to reach into the top of a pie safe of the like and extract the box and knives. Your guests might become overcome with envy. Or not.
I will update this review in a few days with comparative reviews. I will compare this set with at least two or perhaps three others we currently use. Prima facie visualization (whew, what is that?) suggests that these are the best of the lot. But I do not want to materially drive the review until I have made a direct comparison. My plan is to use identical cuts of steak and pork so that the comparison is at least fair. Later….
