    I have never used humidifier without it, so I can’t tell whether it does anything, so I am rating it OK.

    I love my honeywell humidifer in the winter keeps my hands and lips from drying out. After two seasons I decide to get some replacements.

    The description for this cartridge says that it “provides continuous protection against mold and bacteria” with its “Aquastat” antimicrobial technology. If you read the literature that comes with it, however, it says that it prevents microbe growth *in the cartridge*. Not in your humidifier. It’s not an antimicrobial cartridge; it’s a demineralization cartridge. Whoever reported that it removes slime must be imagining it.

    The list price for this item is $15.98. Why is Eleven Adar (as of 2008-11-25) charging $49.99? From most other online sellers (including Amazon.com when it is in stock) the standard price is $8.99.
